Next Sunday, February 5, the Youth Connection will once again be collecting money to fight hunger. This year all donations will be put towards the Youth Connection 30 Hour Famine which will be held two weeks later.
The 30 Hour Famine is a Youth Connection event that will take place February 17-18 with the youth from Forked River Presbyterian. Both the Souper Bowl of Caring and the 30 Hour Famine events aim to bring awareness to hunger and malnutrition issues. The 30 Hour Famine is through World Vision which is a “Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice.”
If you are able, please make a donation in one of the soup pots the youth will be holding at the doors as you leave worship. This offering reminds us that even in our own community not every family can afford to buy groceries.
