It’s so tempting to just want more and better—more money, more luxuries, more comfort, more friends, more trips, better looks, a better life! Experts report that perusing the carefully selected images of friends and associates on social media pages can be unhelpful. A constant desire for “more and better” can lead to unhappiness.

This brings us to our life application in November:

We’ll look to the Bible for guidance in dealing with this struggle. In the Old Testament we’ll find stories that illustrate the unhappiness brought on by jealousy and the relentless desire for “more.” In the New Testament, the Apostle Paul provides an example of contentment in the face of severe difficulties. He teaches that God is faithful to provide what we need to face whatever happens in our life.
