Little Dresses for Africa

HELP us make a difference ONE dress at a time!

This year, we are excited to include Little Dresses for Africa in our Church Wide Day of Service on November 1st. LDFA is a non-profit organization founded in 2008, based in Rockwood, MI. Since its inception, it has provided over 9 million dresses for young girls in Africa. By doing so, they have been able to work alongside the people to address the specific needs of villages in Malawi, such as access to clean water, education, and community involvement. Check out their website https://littledressesforafrica.org for more information.

How you can help: On November 1st:

Our own Busy Hands for Mission sewing group will have various fabrics already cut out for easy-to-sew patterns provided by LDFA for different-sized sundresses. There will be sewing machines all set up for this simple, straight sewing project in the Fellowship Hall in the church building. No previous sewing experience needed – just a willingness to try something new that can make such a difference in a young girl’s life.

Experienced in sewing? Call the church office to find out how you can help, or make a dress at home on your own machine!

Sewing not your thing, but still want to help? Consider purchasing gift cards from either Michael’s or Walmart to help purchase needed sewing supplies such as cotton or polyester thread, lightweight cotton fabric, elastic, and bias tape. You can drop off items off to Donna Moscatelli in our church office.

“We’re not just sending dresses, we’re sending Hope”. See you there!
