Dear PPPC,
It’s World Communion Sunday this week!
What is World Communion Sunday?
World Communion Sunday, celebrated on the first Sunday in October, is a Christian observance for congregations worldwide to recognize their unity in Christ, regardless of denomination or location, sharing the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper.
How are we celebrating?
Our celebration is three-fold:
1) Deacon Sue Beltran will be preaching!
Our congregation overwhelmingly stepped up to support Sue’s mission to Kenya this summer. You supported her financially; you commissioned her; and you prayed for her…before, during, and after her trip. Folks have been asking when they will get to hear more about the trip and mission….well, this Sunday is the day! Come and hear all that Sue has gleaned and is equipped to share. May we listen to her with ears to hear!
2) We will receive the PC(USA) Peace & Global Witness Offering!
The Peace & Global Witness Offering enables the church to promote the Peace of Christ by addressing systems of conflict and injustice across the world. Through the Peace & Global Witness Offering, congregations are encouraged and equipped to find and address the anxiety and discord that is prevalent throughout this broken and sinful world.
- 25% retained by PPPC to support peacemaking efforts in our local community.
- 25% retained by mid councils to support peacemaking efforts at the regional level.
- 50% supports peacemaking, reconciliation and global witness through PC(USA) created and supported ministries.
If you would like to read or know more about this offering, please click here to access the PC(USA)’s website for the offering. There will be special envelopes in your pew and in your bulletin on Sunday.
3) After worship, we will head over to the CE Building for the first Communion Breakfast of the year!
For the 2025-2026 year, we are trying a different schedule for Communion Breakfasts. We will have four breakfasts following worship during the year (quarterly-ish). The first is this Sunday! After worship, make your way over to the CE building/Wilton Hall, for a wonderful breakfast prepared by the Kitchen Committee. Let us join together for a fellowship meal.
See you in church on Sunday!
Yours for the journey,
Pastor Molly
