We rejoice with church member Anthony Maimone, who has completed his training at New Brunswick Theological Seminary and who – it can now be announced – is negotiating with a congregation for a call to become their pastor!
This Sunday, Anthony will be preaching his candidating sermon at the First Presbyterian Church of Tuckerton. He has already been approved by the Committee on Ministry of Monmouth Presbytery. If all goes well with the congregational vote this Sunday, he will be examined on the floor of the presbytery meeting on Tuesday evening, September 27 at Belmar. Then, he plans to be ordained at the Tuckerton church at a special worship service at 4:00 pm on Sunday, October 2.
Anthony’s service at Tuckerton will be part-time. He will continue his “day job” at International Schools Services in Princeton, and will commute to Tuckerton from his family’s home in Manasquan. While we won’t be seeing the Maimone family at Point Pleasant on very many more Sunday mornings, we’re so happy to know of this new adventure!
