9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The scriptures are written ‘black fire on white fire’. . . the black fire refers to the letters of the scripture. . . the white fire refers to the spaces between the letters where we find the depth of the story. The scriptures are written ‘black fire on white fire’ . . . the black fire refers to the printed words of scripture, . . . the white fire refers to the spaces between the lines where we find the depth of the story. We will be invited to step into the roles of different biblical characters to voice thoughts and feelings not stated in the biblical text. The written scripture is not changed within the experience but we will have the opportunity to expand our understanding and make the stories come alive.

Guest leader: Amy Clarkson, life long Presbyterian, retreat and bible study leader, will invite us to “play with fire” and have fun while learning and understanding scriptures in a way that enhances each personal journey!
