Dear PPPC –
Rather than rushing right into September carrying the exact same load, here is a moment at the end of the summer (yes, I know Locals’ Summer is just beginning)…here is a moment at the end of August for you and me to look backward before moving forward.
Author Emily P. Freeman writes, “One of our best teachers for making future decisions are the decisions we’ve made in the past. Looking forward is necessary for living and planning and being a person. But if we never look back, we may lose a sense of life as it is now, which is the only life we’ve got.”
So here are three reflection questions for you at the brink of September. May they offer you a moment of reflection that is nourishing and enlightening…both practically and spiritually.
What was one unmistakable gift from this summer?
When did you notice yourself feeling desperately tired?
Where do you sense hope starting to grow?
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable Labor Day Weekend!
May you find some rest.
See you in church.
Yours for the journey,
Pastor Molly
