From Our Interim Pastor

A delicious selection of wholesome homemade soups and breads provided a wonderful prelude to the Ash Wednesday service that helped us ‘jump-start’ this year’s Lenten season. Thank you to everyone who cooked, set-up, cleaned-up, read scripture, sang, colored signs, lit fires, and politely agreed to mess up their fingers and have their foreheads marked with sticky ashes, all to express our desire to seek greater conformity to the mind of Christ.

The Sunday worship services during Lent will offer valuable opportunities to experience the richness of this season as we journey dramatically towards the passion of our Savior on our way to celebrating the joy of Christ’s resurrection.

March 10 – Hungering in the Wilderness (note Daylight Saving time!)
March 17 – Heavenly Common-Wealth with Rev. C. Wilcox preaching
March 24 – Healing and Wholeness service under the direction of Rev. E. Lindner
March 31 – Home and Welcomed with anthems by the Choral Bells Choir
April 7 – Hair in the Wine with celebration of The Lord’s Supper
April 14 – Holy Week starts with procession with and distribution of palms and remembrance of Christ’s Passion with the Chancel Choir

May God bless our journey through the desert of Lent to the font of rebirth.
As we prayed on Ash Wednesday: May our fasting be a hunger for justice.
May our alms be a making of peace.

May our prayer be the chant of humble and grateful hearts.

Peace!
Pastor Osy
