At their March 19 meeting, the Session took the following actions:
1. Postponed until October consideration of the possibility of getting copies of the new Presbyterian hymnal, “Glory to God,” for the Sanctuary, at the 20% pre-publication discount. The new hymnal will be published in September, but orders must be in by June 1 in order to qualify for the discount. Should the Session decide to do this, the congregation would be invited to purchase these in honor or in memory of loved ones.
2. Approved the creation of two field education positions for students from Princeton or New Brunswick Seminaries, one this summer and one in the 2013-2104 academic year. To be paid for out of Volunteer Village funds, these positions would focus on hospitality and spiritual encouragement for the volunteer workers.
3. Voted to move the church’s property loan to the Presbyterian Investment and Loan Program, at a lower interest rate.
4. Approved the purchase of new doors for the Manse garage, and the use of one of the bays of the garage as a toolshed for the Volunteer Village.
