Join Us in Worship!

Rev. Samuel Yenn-Batah will lead us in worship this Sunday!

Sam was born and raised in Accra, Ghana, before immigrating to Atlanta, Georgia with his family of origin during the 1996 Olympics. While helping high school students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and start their own businesses, Sam studied saxophone with Ryan Kilgore, toured with Sonnie Badu, and shared the gift with music to bring people joy and healing. In 2012, Sam was named a Global Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship in partnership with Goldman Sachs, while completing degrees in Economics and French at Georgia State University.

Sam makes a home in New Jersey with his spouse, The Rev. LaThelma A. Yenn-Batah, and their beloved daughter, son, and niece. While serving as the Manager of Pastoral Care and Clinical Pastoral Education at Penn Medicine Princeton Health, Sam serves on the Workplace Violence Committee, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, and is a biomedical ethics consultant for the spiritual needs of patients. While training graduate students in chaplaincy, Sam also serves as Chair of the Employee Benevolent Fund and COVID-19 Relief Fund which aids hospital employees facing financial constraints and food insecurity.

Sam is a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, an ordained Minister of Word & Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA), and a Certified Educator Candidate in the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. Sam loves comedy, writes poetry, watches drama movies, and fervently prays for a revival of the L.A. Lakers! Sam looks forward to being back at Point Pleasant Presbyterian Church and leading worship on behalf of his colleague & dear friend, Pastor Molly.
