April 2, 2021- Good Friday Tenebrae Service at 7:00 pm via Zoom
As early as the fourth century Christians began the solemn observance of Good Friday through a service of Tenebrae. Tenebrae means “shadow” or “darkness” in Latin. This service of shadows takes the worshiper deeper into the darkness of that day of crucifixion through readings, anthems and hymns. As the cruxcifixion narrative is told the candle light is gradually extinguished.
